Sept. 10, 2014 — QuantaCool Corporation has developed a highly efficient, low-profile MHPTM cold plate small enough to fit within 1U rack servers and 30-mm blade servers. The new cold plate is designed to handle the heat loads of multi-core server and workstation processors, including the latest Intel Xeon 8-core and Core-i7 Extreme units.

The low-profile cold plates are operational in a demonstration blade server rack. The system features cold plates manifolded to a common air-cooled condenser located above the ceiling of the rack room, allowing server waste heat to be rejected without requiring air conditioning or chilled water.  In load tests, the CPUs run cooler with MHP than the original air-cooled heat sinks supplied by the server manufacturer.
